My name is Júlio César Petrini and I was born in a sunny friday morning on December 1985.
Since I was a very young kid I developed a huge interest in everything related to illustration and art in general. My mom used to say the first words I said when I was born were "I want to be an illustrator". That's of course a joke she created just to express how commited I was on learning how to draw since my first steps.
Luckly I grew up in a very supportive family, and at the age of 12, with my mom's encouragement, I started to take art classes in many courses such as Comic Book Illustration, Character's Anatomy, Comic Book Storytelling, and also painting courses to support my creativity addressing many techniques, such as Watercolour, Gouache, Acrylics, Markers, Coloured Pencils and Oils
When I was 18, I came to a point where everyone ask themselves a question to take an important decision: What should I do now? Well, I knew exactly what path I should take, so I joined the University of Fine Arts.
During my graduation years, I've learned and studied many different and interesting subjects, and I decided to be focused on some of the techniques I loved the most: Watercolour and Gouache.
After my graduation in Fine Arts, I started to work as a Visual Artist and Interface Designer and have been working for many companies in different industries since then, such as Packaging, Advertising, Banking and Gaming industries.
I also work as a Freelancer Illustrator on my cozy studio at home, the MindSketch Studio, creating delightful illustrations and bringing the wonders of imagination to life for children books, book covers and the publishing industry in general.
